November 2020: COVID, Holidays, and a New Look

Updated: Dec 3, 2020

Let’s be honest, no matter who you are, this wasn’t the best semester. Whether you were on campus…sort of, or stayed at home, this semester was weird. We couldn’t see each other’s’ smiles, classes were mostly online, there were some funky power outages, and the linear flow of time was way out of balance. COVID has been tough for student organizations too, with new guidelines and restrictions on how and when and where we can hold events, and with so many of our members gone. For our Ambassador team these changes meant anxious weekly Zoom meetings as we tried to adjust and shift our priorities to best serve the transfer community. We struggled to come to terms with the fact that the TSN we had helped create and loved wasn’t going to be the TSN our new students got to know.

Luckily, we have some wonderful people on our team, great advisors, and tons of creativity. In spite of the challenges, we’re rebranding and refocusing. In the coming months we're going to direct our energy towards supporting the incoming transfer students and bringing resources and information to the transfer community. Sadly, we'll see less TSN social events (although we'll never pass up a chance to celebrate National Transfer Student Week). We want to bring our community to everyone, instead of having events. This new and improved site is one way we're accomplishing that and we hope you find it helpful. We have big ideas for next semester and if you want to see any other resources added to this site, please let us know.

Happy Holidays and Axe ‘em!
